Playing in the Sand

While Brigitte and I were walking to the Iron Shore to watch the Cayman sunset, I noticed this little boy playing in the sand. It was interesting watching him as he was entertaining himself with no toys; it was just him, the sand and the gentle swaying of the waves which washed away his creations and provided him with a fresh start.

The Newlyweds in Black and White

This photo was taken shortly after the ceremony as the Newlyweds took a few moments to relax on the beach and enjoy the moment. Simone and Pierre both looked absolutely radiant and extremely happy together. I wish them all the best.

My good friend and fellow photographer leaves the Cayman Islands with his family today for Dubai for an exciting new career opportunity. Paul is a great photographer and I have really enjoy our time together. I wish Paul and his family all the best and look forward to hearing all the exciting news from Dubai.

Jazz on Bourbon Street

A Friday night in May 2009 in New Orleans on Bourbon Street. It was my first time to New Orleans and was walking up Bourbon Street. Every restaurant and bar had some type of music, most of was live, and of course Jazz This photo was taken in the doorway of a dimly lit restaurant with my new 24mm f/1.4L II at ISO 3200 on the 5D MKII. Noise was slightly adjusted for in Adobe’s Lightroom and a slight Levels adjustment in Photoshop.

Beauty in Black and White

Thinking about the start of the weekend and hitting the beach, brings this photo to mind. It was shot back in March, just as the sun had set and we lost all natural light. Strobist info: One Alienbee 1600 camera left on 1/4 power and a Nikon SB900 camera right. Shot with a Canon 5d MKII.

Don’t take my picture

The photo was taken at a beach wedding. The little girl did not like her photo being taken. She would hide underneath the sun umbrella or as she was doing here, pulling her hood down so one could not take her photo.

Miss Cayman – B&W

With the Miss Universe pageant yesterday evening, I thought it would be fitting to post a photo of Miss Cayman whom I had the pleasure of photographing early this year. It was an absolutely wonderful photo shoot with my good friend and fellow photographer, Paul Aiken. The model was Nicosia (Miss Cayman). The shoot included an Alienbee 1600 in an Octabox camera left, an Alienbee 800 in a softbox camera right and a SB800 to the right and behind Nicosia. They were shot with the my Canon 5D MK II and 85mm f /1.2L II using Pocket Wizards.
