One will quickly notice that today’s photo of Lee is very different from yesterday. Lee of course is not really weathered. The “look” is a result of the Topaz Adjust 3 filter being applied in Photoshop.

I only purchased the Topaz suite a week ago and this is really the first time that I have had any opportunity to play with it, but so far I am very impressed with it.

Strobist Information: Canon 5D Mark II, 85mm f/1.2L II, No flash, ISO 1600 with no noise reduction, Topaz Adjust 3.

The Cayman Islands’ Photography Club held our Christmas windup on December 16, 2009 at the Breezes restaurant in downtown George Town. I have the feeling the restaurant staff did not know what hit them with so many cameras in one place.

It was the club’s annual Christmas party and spouses were invited. They are actually invited to all club meetings, but some how just do not make it out.

Brigitte and I were talking to Lee and his wife when Lee mentioned that he can’t remember the last time him and his wife had their photo taken together as he is normally on the othe side of the camera.

I was only too happy to take a photo of the lovely couple.

Strobist Information: Canon 5D Mark II, 24mm f/1.4L II, Inside with no flash at ISO of 1600 (with no noise reduction applied)

Two days ago I blogged about the Man-Maid cardboard boat (it was the photo with the boat riding off into the sunset). From the sunset photo, you could not actually see the boat. Today’s photo is of the same boat gliding along the water while the men take photos of the ladies (i.e. refer to the man in top left corner (who’s position reminds me of an otter ).

Strobist information: Canon 5D Mark II, 85mm f/1.2L II, Natural Light and 2500 ISO. It is quite amazing when you thick the photo was shot in near darkness at 2500 ISO and I have not applied any noise reduction!

As you may have guessed by looking at Santa on the balcony in the bottom left corner, the buildings in the photo house some of the condos at Camana Bay.
Today’s photo is from the only window on the top floor of the Camana Bay Observation Tower with a south view.

If you look closely, off in the distance you can see Grand Cayman’s garbage dump rising from the ground (not the prettiest site to be viewing from an observation tower). In the foreground includes a rooftop swimming pool for owners and tenants of the Camana Bay condos, a parking lot structure to the right and an office building whose tenants include Ernst & Young and Cayman National.
