Two days ago I blogged about the Man-Maid cardboard boat (it was the photo with the boat riding off into the sunset). From the sunset photo, you could not actually see the boat. Today’s photo is of the same boat gliding along the water while the men take photos of the ladies (i.e. refer to the man in top left corner (who’s position reminds me of an otter ).

Strobist information: Canon 5D Mark II, 85mm f/1.2L II, Natural Light and 2500 ISO. It is quite amazing when you thick the photo was shot in near darkness at 2500 ISO and I have not applied any noise reduction!

Yes, the title is correct, what you see is a cardboard boat with three rowers. What is even more amazing, is that the cardboard boat raced on Saturday (21st November 2009) and was still going strong the next day!

The team of Man-Made finished a very respectable 3rd in the Cayman Islands Pirates Boat Race.

Today’s photo is looking easterly from the top floor of the Camana Bay Observation Tower.

As you may have guessed by looking at Santa on the balcony in the bottom left corner, the buildings in the photo house some of the condos at Camana Bay. While it is a great location (especially if you work in or around Camana Bay), I am not so sure I would want my windows to be facing the observation tower. For more information click here

Trivia of the day…This is my photo blog’s 100th post!

Today’s photo is from the only window on the top floor of the Camana Bay Observation Tower with a south view.

If you look closely, off in the distance you can see Grand Cayman’s garbage dump rising from the ground (not the prettiest site to be viewing from an observation tower). In the foreground includes a rooftop swimming pool for owners and tenants of the Camana Bay condos, a parking lot structure to the right and an office building whose tenants include Ernst & Young and Cayman National. Today’s photo only provides a small glimpse of how unique and “funky” the Camana Bay Observation Tower is. The photo is of the top floor of the tower looking North with WestBay off in the distance. To the immediate right (just outside of the photo) is the elevator. The railing on the right side is the start of a large spiral staircase.

As discussed yesterday, the Camana Bay Observation Tower is beautiful inside and out. I was drawn more to taking photos of the inside then I was of the outside

Brigitte and I visited the Camana Bay Observation Tower this past weekend. It is a beautiful observation tower that stretches 75 feet into the area providing a 360 degree view of Grand Cayman.

They left no detail untouched as can be seen in today’s photo. The mosaic image consists of in excess of 3,000,000 glass tiles. The installation is the most detailed undersea glass mosaic of its size ever assembled making it the largest of its kind in the world.
